THE NEXT PRODUCTION:
"Nana's Naughty Knickers"
by Katherine DiSavino.
Directed by Tracey Carter.
JUNE 7-23, 2012
Nana Sylvia has a very big secret that even best friend Vera doesn’t know about. When her grandaughter comes to stay with her in New York for the summer, Sylvia’s secret passion looks to be revealed and the hilarious cover-up begins.
THE CHARACTERS:
- Elaine Jones is Sylvia Charles. Energetic and savvy, she’s the proud tenant of a rent controlled apartment.
- Vera Gover is Vera Walters. Sylvia’s aged accomplice: equipped with two hearing aids and a collapsible walker.
- Lauren Cowgill is Bridget Charles. Sylvias unsuspecting, 20-something, soon-to-be-law-student grandaughter.
- Ben Anderson is Tom O’Grady. The newest cop on the force, happily assigned the beat where Sylvia’s apartment is.
- Kevin Low is Gil Schmidt. The landlord, over-eager to rid himself of his aged tenant.
- Anna Anderson is Heather Van Pree. Long on attitude but short on style, she’s looking for better opportunities.
- Val Ferguson is Clair. Sophisticated and forceful, this glamorous socialite is one of Sylvia’s oldest friends.
- Ann Rowland is the Voice. She’s stationed at the apartment building’s front desk. Slightly bored and always sarcastic.
- Mario Arevalo is UPS Man 1. He’s cute, a little lonely, and he really delivers up the laughs.
- John Warren is UPS Man 2. Not one for saying much, he lets his face do the talking for him.
AND STILL TO COME IN 2012 ...
November this year will be the centenary of the Waihi 1912 Miner's Strike. Waihi Drama has something special in the works to commemorate this event.
We’re just waiting for the finishing touches on the script before planning for this gets underway.
It’s going to be a very interesting project to be involved in and we look forward to letting you know more soon.
